Who are the Two Bells?
We are Kevin and Tracy Bell, a husband and wife, tandem storytelling team, dedicated to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We combine our love for keeping the oral tradition of story telling alive with our love for children as we share our passion of the cultural arts. We have been performing since 1999, specializing in interactive tandem storytelling. The pair are grant recipients of the North Carolina Arts Council’s Touring Artist Directory for 2005-2007. Kevin is an artist and musician. He is the illustrator of Little Black Fairy and Other Very Fairy Stories, Poems, Rhythms & Rhymes by Donna Kokumo Buie. He also illustrated a comic book titled The Story of Lisbon Berry, the first Black lawyer in Hillsborough, NC. He has created authentic paintings, featuring the African and African American experience, t-shirt designs, brochures, greeting cards, and murals. He earned a BA in graphic design from North Carolina Central University. Tracy has a BA degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Library Science, and a Master of Arts degree, specializing in Educational Technology from North Carolina Central University (NCCU). She is a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Library Media. After receiving a grant through NCCU from the US Department of Education to teach individuals with visual impairments, she obtained graduate level licensure to become a teacher for the visually impaired (TVI). Tracy has been a TVI since 2020; however, she is a forever librarian! She is currently a doctoral candidate at Gardner-Webb University.
